Who are We?

In Her Words:

Our Journey together began over a decade ago.

We were just kids when we met, I was 18 and he was 19. He was dating others, I was dating others; We weren’t looking for or expecting Disney-style happily-ever-after Love, until it smacked us in the face on our first date.

I am so grateful to now have now spent thirteen magical years madly in love with my best friend Conrad Steere.

He didn’t agree with every single thing I said, because he clearly wasn’t a push-over, nor did his ego feel the need to dominate the conversation or be right all the time.

He had such a deep, yet detached care for the plight of others that created the perfect storm for a natural counsellor. It was like watching a master at work when I got to know him and notice how often his personal and professional relationships, turned to him to help navigate complex emotions. His light-hearted, compassionate and easy-going nature seems to always provide room for serious topics to be discussed without intensity, fear, or anxiety.

What Conrad has given myself, and many others, is the freedom to expand ones point of view to the bigger picture.

He has this innate gift of helping others sort through the confusion of understanding themselves. Why we think the way we do and how our thoughts and patterns best serve us.

His skills in Counselling are innate, but where he has expanded and I believe has found his true calling is through Quantum Hypnosis Healing Technique (QHHT). This is a unique practice which allows for communication and deep transformation at the level of the subconscious. This altered state of consciousness is a familiar yet unusual experience as we enter into the same brainwave state when we drift off to sleep or just before we wake in the morning.

Learning and training in this practice has sharpened Conrad's ability to guide others on their own path of becoming.

Since he first began studying and practicing as an QHHT intern, I have been the first to put my hand up as a guinea pig.

After several sessions dedicated to unravelling a number of limiting thinking and behavioural patterns caused by various emotional distortions, we began to launch off into other pursuits.

The conversations with the subconscious became more abstract and we began to enter into a dialogue of more philosophical and spiritual explorations. I got to know and understand various beings living in other realities, and what we as humans looked like at different levels of consciousness. This connection progressed and had a profound impact on the Art that I create.

As a Ceramic Sculptor, I had already played with portraiture, but when the inspiration from these Internal Explorations in altered states of consciousness began to impress itself upon me, I began Sculpting, Painting and Drawing Spirit Art.

Exploring these sorts of topics without holding onto any belief too tightly is one of our favourite things to do. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing over our decade together; we’ve been through our share of rough waters, but we have navigated it all together.

In his words:

If there is one thing I have always appreciated; its Art.

Searching for and finding beauty in everything I do and see feels like a natural way to create a cup-half-full type of mentality. When I met Elena, I very quickly realised my cup would forever be overflowing.

To me, she is the divine feminine. Always creating, always nurturing, always unearthing something up from the depths of her being.

Something about her has always had one foot in this world and one in another. She sees things in a unique way and will often notice things I would never. While she’s always had a connection to the mystical and unknown, its been incredible to watch her bloom into embracing her place between worlds.

Her Art is also a testament to her unique perspective. Like a tree bearing fruit, I’ve watched her unable to stop creating over the years. She finds a trance-like state of mediation when she’s working with her hands in clay, and often doesn’t hear or see me while in that state. Afterwards, she’s usually calm and at peace while showing me one of the most unusual handmade creations I have ever seen.

Her creativity extends to almost every aspect of her life. While working as a model for almost a decade, she learned from professional makeup artist’s how to do her own makeup. Forever curious and always asking questions, Elena took their by-the-book training and ran with it. She plays with makeup in a way that she is able to express herself freely and I love watching the evolving artwork.

This skill was like fuel to a fire for my love for photography. While I had always enjoyed landscape and nature photography, Elena and her ever-changing colourful face captured my attention daily and I developed my skills in portraiture photography through her enigmatic modelling. As my muse, my portfolio expanded exponentially when collaborating with her.

I watched as the camera brought out a new confidence within her.

As all her perceived imperfections were suddenly captured on film, she realised the negative internal monologue wasn’t accurate, and that she, like all of us, has an internal light that shines through in timeless photos.

We began Divine Embodied Artistry as a way to express this idea. That we are all sparks of light wrapped in bodies, and we can use creativity to embrace ourselves and shine our internal light.
