Althar was inspired by the writhing whorls of smoke tumbling out of an incense. Noticing lifelike forms among the smoke expanded the question of what the smokes face would look like?
Emerging through flowing forms and writhing smoke, this guardian being appears suspended between breath and physical matter.
He is a keeper of thresholds and was created with the intention of guarding passages.
Designed as both sculptural artwork and incense holder, the rising smoke becomes part of the piece itself, transforming stillness into movement.
Finished with oxidised copper tones and adorned with hanging feathers, this work invites moments of reflection, presence, and connection.
